School is almost over in Texas, and it feels like summer is already here. We visited some friends near Houston last weekend, and the heat was absolutely amazing...in good ways and bad. Good because it really felt like summer for the first time in quite a while. Bad because it was nearly impossible to escape the heat. Still, we managed to spend some time at the beach and escape without a sunburn! We had a great time and some really great food. Thanks, Kevin & Kristen, and good luck in Boulder!

I survived! Had a blast at Six Flags Over Texas. I endured several roller coasters, including Batman (The Ride), which I think was my favorite of all. My very FIRST ride was on Runaway Mountain, which is normally completely in the dark. However, due to some malfunction in the system, the lights came on during one particularly troublesome spot in the track, which may not have been so bad had we not been able to see how close to the ground we were. But in the end, all was well. We went, we rode, and we survived!

So I'm just a little freaked out this morning, because today marks my first official trip to Six Flags Over Texas. For most people, this would be purely exciting. For me, it's a mixed bag of anxiety, nausea, and terror as I think about riding my first (ever) roller coaster. I don't know much, but I know this much: it will NOT be the Texas Giant. I'm hoping my friends will let me get away with something from this list. Probably not. Oh well. I hope I survive... |
