Texas is hot. This shouldn't come as a surprise. And from what I hear, it's not even really that hot, relatively speaking. But even though I know I should expect it, for some reason I'm always caught off guard. I guess life is like that a lot. In many respects, we know life consists of surprises and disappointments, successes and failures. But many of these things still take us by surprise when they happen to us. Here's hoping that whatever goes on in our lives, we learn to roll with it.

Home again. New York City was a blast, and Southern California is always fun. But I'm glad to be home, at least for a little while. I'm hoping to have some more time to write, relax, and just be with my family for a while.
